What is hyperconverged?
Definitions vary somewhat by manufacturer/vendor
According to VMware: … “an IT framework that combines storage, computing, and networking into a single system that can reduce data center complexity and increase scalability. A hyperconverged platform includes a hypervisor for virtualized computing, software-defined storage, and network virtualization.”
Short version: Storage, CPU, RAM, sometimes networking and other resources are virtualized on the same hardware components for increased scalability & resiliency
